Distribution & Channel Partner Onboarding in India
Find the right partners—and make the distribution work.
We assess where your customer buys, which shops fit your product and what your budget can support. Then we identify and evaluate suitable distribution partners, agree responsibilities and help put the route into operation. The aim is active retail coverage and repeat orders, rather than a list of appointed distributors.

Scope
What's included
Best for
Founders entering a new territory, moving from online to offline, or improving a distribution network that is not producing repeat orders.
- Define the target retailers, geography and products for the pilot
- Source and evaluate partners for relevant coverage, financial capacity and servicing
- Discuss margins, payment, returns and supply responsibilities using actual proposed terms
- Coordinate partner onboarding, initial stock, order flow and retailer follow-up
- Review active coverage, availability, reorders and issues against the agreed scorecard
Which partner role do you need?
A distributor supplies and services a territory; a wholesaler may offer a different reach and buying model. Dealers and specialist stockists have category-specific roles. We assess the route before deciding which intermediaries are needed, so each layer has a reason and an affordable cost.
What happens after appointment?
Agree who takes retailer orders, bills, delivers, follows up and handles returns. Compare the partner’s existing brands and capacity with your requirements. A partner with a large network may still be unsuitable if your product receives little attention or stores are not serviced.
How will you know the route is working?
Review shops placing orders, repeat orders, product availability and stock age alongside sales. Separate stock sold to the distributor from stock supplied to retailers, and use consumer sales data where available. Include servicing cost and payment timing in expansion decisions.
Common questions
What founders ask about this service
Straight answers about how this works in practice.
How do I find distributors for my brand in India?
Define the category, target territory, retailer profile and supply requirements first. Evaluate candidates for relevant reach, competing brands, financial capacity, servicing and terms. SalesOrbit supports sourcing, evaluation and onboarding within an agreed execution plan; distributor appointment is followed by retail servicing and performance review.
Do you sell a ready-made distributor list?
Our core offer is a scoped brand and market pilot with planning and execution. Partner selection is based on your category, territory, budget and operating needs. A contact list alone does not establish partner suitability, willingness or active distribution.
What distributor margin should I offer?
There is no universal margin suitable for every product and territory. Consider category expectations, partner responsibilities, servicing costs, credit, returns and your contribution after channel costs. Agree terms using actual proposals and the pilot’s economics rather than relying on an unsupported benchmark.
Part of your growth plan
Start with a focused pilot.
We understand your brand, product, category, competition and budget, then build and execute the branding and distribution plan that fits. Start with a focused 3–6 month pilot in up to 2–3 cities, learn what works in the market, and expand from there.
Brand understanding and channel planning are included in the pilot. We agree the scope, fees, execution budget and success measures before work begins.
